Modern Foreign Languages at St Catherine's
St Catherine’s Primary School provides every child in Key Stage 2 (KS2) the opportunity to learn about the world by experiencing different cultures and traditions. The experience of a foreign language allows children to understand how the world works and how every country is unique.
We aim to excite and inspire our pupils by using a relevant, board and vibrant foreign language curriculum. Teaching KS2 children a foreign language provides them with the tools and opportunities to express their ideas and actively participate in different cultural activities in the classroom and also through the wider school life. As a school, we are a multi-cultural institute which acts as a significant part of our community. Our foreign language teaching will allow pupils to explore relationships between identity and language and also develop a deeper understanding of other cultures around the world.
