Computing at St Catherine's
At St Catherine’s, we aim to prepare our learners for the future by equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence to engage with an ever-changing digital world. Our computing curriculum focuses on a progression of skills in digital literacy, computer science and information technology. These strands are revisited each year and built upon through a progression of learning to ensure that learning is embedded and skills are successfully developed. The opportunity to become digitally literate is vital for our children to ensure that they can become active participants in a digital world and are equipped for the future workplace. Computational thinking and creativity are vital components of a varied and rich computing curriculum at St Catherine’s so that we can engage and inspire our next generation of digital leaders. Our computing curriculum is very closely linked with our Online Safety curriculum and the children will learn lots of transferable skills in order to allow them to become safe, respectful digital citizens.
