Home Learning Opportunities

In the event of children being off school and not being able to access direct teaching, we have planned different opportunities to continue to support children's learning at home.

Please remember that one-to-one tuition is intense, even for fully qualified teachers, and for children. It is often a good idea to start children off for 5 minutes and then go back to them after giving them the chance to try things for themselves.

Children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 should only be expected to work for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. In Key Stage 2, this can be increased to between 40 and 60 minutes.

Scheduling non-negotiable sessions is likely to be the best way to achieve this and will also allow you to work around what you need to achieve whilst you are at home. We have put together a potential timetable which might help you to schedule your family learning.

Further ideas for EYFS can be found within each folder on your child's personal learning platform as these are specific to the areas of learning they work within.
